Peace Silver Dollars 1921-1935

The Peace dollar Designed by Anthony de Francisci, the silver coin was the result of a competition to find designs emblematic of peace. This silver coin features Lady Liberty on the front and its reverse depicts a Bald Eagle at rest clutching an olive branch, with the legend “Peace”. It was the last United States silver dollar coin to be struck for circulation.

1964 Kennedy 90% silver half dollars

The popular John F. Kennedy Silver Half Dollars were minted with 90% Silver and 10% Copper and first issued by the U.S. in 1964 in memory of President John. F. Kennedy. These silver coins were issued only a few weeks after his death, people worldwide began to hoard these coins. 1964 was the only year the John F. Kennedy was minted in 90% Silver and 10% Copper. In the years 1965-1969 the coins were only minted with 40% Silver.

Franklin half dollar
